Maintenance Manager

Position Summary

We are seeking an experienced Maintenance Manager to lead all maintenance and facilities operations in a high-volume manufacturing environment. This individual will be responsible for maximizing equipment uptime, driving preventive and predictive maintenance initiatives, leading a skilled maintenance team, and ensuring all maintenance activities are performed safely and efficiently. The ideal candidate is a hands-on leader with a strong background in industrial maintenance, continuous improvement, and team development.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead all maintenance and facilities operations while fostering a safe, accountable, and high-performing team environment.
  • Ensure all maintenance and repair activities are completed safely using established Lockout/Tagout (LOTO) procedures and all applicable safety standards.
  • Oversee daily maintenance operations, including both reactive repairs and proactive maintenance activities.
  • Develop, implement, and continuously improve preventive and predictive maintenance programs to maximize equipment reliability and minimize downtime.
  • Plan, schedule, and track preventive maintenance activities to ensure timely completion.
  • Drive machine uptime across the facility by coordinating all equipment repair and reliability efforts.
  • Plan and execute major equipment repairs, rebuilds, and maintenance projects.
  • Manage outside contractors, ensuring work is completed safely, on time, and within budget.
  • Oversee spare parts inventory, including the development and maintenance of critical spare parts lists for all equipment.
  • Establish, monitor, and improve maintenance department KPIs, including equipment uptime, PM completion, response time, and overall maintenance performance.
  • Maintain organization and 5S standards throughout the maintenance department.
  • Allocate maintenance resources to support production priorities while maximizing efficiency.
  • Monitor labor utilization and control department overtime.
  • Develop, coach, and mentor maintenance personnel through training, performance management, and career development initiatives.
  • Provide leadership and mentorship to the Assistant Maintenance Manager, supporting growth in leadership and managerial competencies.
  • Collaborate with production, engineering, and other departments to support operational goals and continuous improvement initiatives.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

Supervisory Responsibilities

  • Lead, manage, coach, and hold accountable the Maintenance & Facilities Department team.
  • Conduct performance evaluations and provide ongoing coaching and development.
  • Identify training needs and implement skill development plans.
  • Foster a culture of safety, teamwork, accountability, and continuous improvement.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Industrial Maintenance, or a related field preferred; equivalent experience will be considered.
  • Minimum of 10 years of industrial maintenance experience, preferably supporting CNC lathes, CNC mills, or similar manufacturing equipment.
  • At least 5 years of experience managing a maintenance department in a manufacturing environment.
  • Previous experience in high-volume manufacturing, preferably within the automotive industry.
  • Strong knowledge of preventive and predictive maintenance programs, machine reliability, and equipment troubleshooting.
  • Experience managing maintenance budgets, spare parts inventory, contractors, and maintenance KPIs.
  • Proven leadership experience with the ability to develop, mentor, and motivate maintenance teams.
  • Excellent organizational, communication, and problem-solving skills.
  • Proficiency with CMMS systems and maintenance planning is preferred.
