Overview
Leading healthcare services organization seeking a Manager to oversee RPA & Process Automation within Healthcare Revenue Cycle to lead initiatives.
This role is responsible for owning the end-to-end delivery of automation solutions from opportunity identification through design, build, testing, and implementation. You will serve as a key bridge between business stakeholders and IT, ensuring automation initiatives are effectively translated into scalable, high-impact solutions.
This is a hands-on leadership role for someone who can operate both strategically and tactically leading a team while remaining deeply involved in solution design and execution.
Key Responsibilities
- Own and manage the automation lifecycle, including intake, prioritization, design, development coordination, testing, and deployment
- Partner with RCM stakeholders to identify and evaluate automation opportunities across workflows such as eligibility, claims processing, edits, payment posting, denials, and refunds
- Translate business processes into detailed requirements (BRDs), process maps, and functional specifications for development teams
- Work directly with IT, RPA developers, and technical teams (e.g., UiPath) to design and implement automation solutions
- Lead and support testing efforts (UAT), validation, and post-production optimization
- Ensure solutions meet business requirements, performance goals, and scalability standards
- Manage and mentor a team while supporting execution of automation and process improvement initiatives
- Drive alignment across cross-functional teams including operations, IT, and analytics
- Track and report on automation pipeline, KPIs, and overall impact to leadership
- Stay current on emerging automation technologies (RPA, AI/ML, APIs) and evaluate their applicability
Required Experience
- Hands-on experience across the full lifecycle of RPA/automation delivery (requirements, design, build collaboration, testing, implementation)
- Experience working with RPA tools (UiPath strongly preferred), APIs, or similar automation technologies
- 3+ years of business analysis or process design experience (including BRDs and process mapping)
- 4+ years of people leadership or team management
- Strong experience partnering with IT/development teams to deliver technical solutions
Domain Expertise
- Knowledge of end-to-end Revenue Cycle Management (RCM), including areas such as:
- Eligibility & patient access
- Claims processing & edits (system/clearinghouse)
- Payment posting & reconciliation
- Accounts receivable & denials
- Refunds
- Ability to understand upstream and downstream impacts of process changes across the revenue cycle
Preferred / Differentiators
- Experience in a Digital Transformation, Automation COE, or RPA team
- Exposure to AI/ML or intelligent automation solutions
- Experience working within practice management or EHR systems (Epic, Athena, etc.)
- Lean / Six Sigma or process improvement background
