Description:
This position is responsible for managing the design and delivery of customer orders and for designing products, product modifications, and product components. These products include high pressure water pump units, ancillary equipment, and accessories or tools designed for applications. The design process includes component selection as well as design of components, weldments, and assemblies.
Responsibilities:
• Develop design concepts for systems and mechanical, hydraulic, and structural components based on functional requirements, performance targets, and cost constraints.
• Design, model, and detail components and assemblies for industrial equipment using CAD software.
• Interact with suppliers to source components, evaluate manufacturability, and optimize cost.
• Take ownership of and work on several projects simultaneously.
• Provide creative resolutions to problems unique to the job, customer, or schedule.
• Contribute to standardization of parts, processes, and engineering practices.
• Create and maintain comprehensive documentation.
• Develop design concepts and provide related engineering calculations to support project design.
• Review project designs to ensure technical requirements are met.
• Solve problems with critical gaps in data.
• Review and approve bills of materials and engineering drawings.
• Provide information and data for the creation of product manuals.
• Communicate effectively and professionally with co-workers and colleagues.
• Work with shop employees to resolve problems during assembly.
• Maintain regular and prompt attendance.
• Other duties as assigned.

Education and/or Experience:
Bachelor of Science Degree in Mechanical Engineering or related field plus 5+ years of applicable experience. Experience may be substituted for education. Should have a background in business skills, management, budgeting, and analysis. Must be proficient in CAD drafting. Solid technical background with understanding or hands-on experience in manufacturing industrial equipment.
Computer Skills:
Knowledge of ERP systems. Proficient in Microsoft products including Word and Excel. Microsoft D365 experience is a plus. Proficient in CAD drafting. Autodesk AutoCAD and Inventor experience is a plus.
