Controls Engineer
Controls Engineer – Automotive Automation

We’re seeking a Controls Engineer to support automation equipment in a high-volume automotive manufacturing environment. This role focuses on PLC programming, HMI development, startup/commissioning, troubleshooting, and continuous improvement of production systems.

What You’ll Do:
- Program and troubleshoot Allen-Bradley PLCs and HMIs
- Support equipment startup, commissioning, and production launches
- Diagnose and resolve controls, electrical, and automation issues
- Perform I/O checkout, system validation, and production support
- Partner with engineering and manufacturing teams to improve equipment reliability
What We’re Looking For:
- 3+ years of Controls Engineering experience in manufacturing
- Experience with Allen-Bradley PLCs and FactoryTalk View
- Background in commissioning, startup, and troubleshooting automated equipment
- Automotive manufacturing experience preferred
- Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering or equivalent experience

We’re seeking a Manufacturing Engineer to support equipment launches, manufacturing projects, and continuous improvement initiatives in a high-volume automotive environment. This role combines hands-on manufacturing engineering with project coordination to ensure successful equipment transfers and production launches.

Responsibilities
- Coordinate equipment launches and manufacturing projects.
- Track project timelines, documentation, and open issues.
- Create and maintain work instructions, plant layouts, and engineering documentation.
- Partner with cross-functional engineering teams to support production and launch activities.
- Drive process improvements that increase safety, quality, and efficiency.
Qualifications
- Engineering degree or equivalent manufacturing experience.
- Automotive or high-volume manufacturing experience.
- Strong CAD skills and the ability to read mechanical drawings.
- Experience with manufacturing launches, project coordination, or program management.
- Lean Manufacturing knowledge and strong Excel skills.
Preferred: Stamping or press experience, Six Sigma, PLC exposure, and automated manufacturing experience.

Maintenance Supervisor
OtterBase is partnering with a Tier 1 automotive supplier to hire an experienced Maintenance Supervisor with a strong background in manufacturing equipment reliability. This role will lead a skilled maintenance team supporting a high-volume automotive stamping operation, ensuring critical production equipment remains safe, reliable, and operating efficiently.

The ideal candidate will bring experience supporting automotive manufacturing operations, leading maintenance teams, and improving equipment reliability through preventative maintenance, troubleshooting, and continuous improvement initiatives.

Responsibilities:
- Lead, coach, and develop a team of maintenance technicians supporting daily production operations
- Assign daily work priorities and coordinate maintenance activities based on production needs
- Oversee preventative and corrective maintenance programs to maximize equipment uptime
- Troubleshoot and resolve complex mechanical, hydraulic, pneumatic, and electrical equipment issues
- Support stamping presses, production machinery, automation systems, and related manufacturing equipment
- Drive root cause analysis efforts to reduce recurring equipment failures and improve reliability
- Partner with production, engineering, and leadership teams to address downtime challenges
- Maintain accurate maintenance records, documentation, and spare parts inventory
- Promote a strong safety culture while maintaining high equipment performance standards
Qualifications:
- Previous maintenance leadership experience in an automotive or industrial manufacturing environment
- Experience supervising maintenance technicians or skilled trades teams
- Background supporting metal stamping, press operations, or similar high-volume manufacturing equipment strongly preferred
- Strong troubleshooting experience with mechanical, hydraulic, pneumatic, and electrical systems
- Experience with preventative maintenance programs, downtime reduction, and continuous improvement initiatives
- Ability to support occasional overtime, early starts, late stays, or production emergencies as needed
